Prapim's New 'Haircut'.

Photobucket
I may consider actually naming the series of autobiographical comics Proof of How Prapim Fails At Life. Or maybe The Chronicles of Prapim's (lack of) Adventures. Which one has the better ring...?

I pay the price of being too cheap to go to a hairstylist and being impatient. It honestly did seem like a good idea at the time! The sadder thing is, I was totally sober at the time.

On a positive note, it may please you to know that my fringe has since grown a bit longer and thus not so awful, and although one of my friends could tell I cut it myself (it being that uneven, sadly) most of my friends didn't really seem to notice. So...yay!

(Sorry the text is so small! D:)

Easter Break + A Knife In The Hand Is Worth...

Well, it's Easter! Happy Easter to all who celebrate it! (It was just an excuse to eat chocolate for me. Actually, most things are just an excuse to eat chocolate for me.) I've been feeling a bit sick lately. Not sick enough to stay at home all day and have chicken noodle soup, but sick enough that being out for too long makes my head throb. Then again, that may have also been because I watched Clash of the Titans. Hm. Anyway, my throat feels itchy. I've been drinking lots of water but perhaps I just need sleep.

This was supposed to be an entry into the design brief competition for the launch of 'The Left Hand of God', but it turns out the last day for submission was today! It seems I have just barely missed the deadline :( I fail hard. >.<

I used Jeong Juno's Tekken 5 (clenched fist) as reference for this, which I would link but cannot find online. Check him out! He's awesome.

Black Frog and the Infatuated Tree

Well, this took forever to upload (considering the original file is a whopping 891MB, having been saved in the best possible quality and resolution) which involved me keeping my computer on for about two days. Seriously.

Done as a group animation (working together with Suhui and Max) as part of a moving image brief, 'Secret'. We were given 'black', 'frog', 'infatuated' and 'tree' as our keywords to work around. Well, we kind of dropped the 'infatuated' and instead actually made the frogs the spawn of the tree.

After many days of agonizing, compromising and not sleeping adequately - who knew it would take four hours to animate three seconds? - as with most animations, watching the product is very satisfying. And look, mama! I drew the tree branches!

Dr. Facilier - The Princess and the Frog

Unfinished doodle of the super-awesome manipulative, highly charismatic Disney villain with very slick dance moves, Dr. Facilier. All hail the wonder that is Keith David's voice!

The Many Faces of...

After seeing those particular pictures of Kris Allen and Adam Lambert making faces at the camera, I just had to do this. Also very loosely based on those photos of the Beatles in A Hard Day's Night. Both an excuse to practice expressions and colouring. I have found the wonder that is the Surface Blur tool. Woot!

Original characters: Jojo (redhead) and Gideon making faces. Some of them weren't as successful as the others. Oh, well. XD

Check out a vaguely interactive version I did for practice at HTML here! It fascinates more than it should (probably just me, though).

Jumpers are cool.

Work in progress; some characters I created a while ago. Basically the only reason I make characters is an excuse to dress them up in stuff I can't afford/fit into/am the wrong gender for. I love jumpers; no longer should they be associated with horrible Christmas presents given by relatives!

EDIT: Unfortunately, stupid me accidentally did an overwrite of my original file, and now I only have a small compressed version. The colours seem to have become flatter and the lineart less clear. The things that could have been...*sniffles*

Artist figures.

Figures done for my team's SONY project, an idea which was later scrapped, which is a bit of a shame. =\ From left to right, and top to bottom: Michael Jackson, Lady GaGa, Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, David Bowie and one half of Daft Punk.

The goshdarn...

BATMAN!

Ribbitt, ribbitt.

It's a tree that births frogs! This makes perfect sense when you see the discussion that led up to it, I swear! An initial testing out of how it would look for our moving image project.

What I hate is that there are periods where I'm totally free with weeks on end of no strenuous work, then suddenly BAM! WORKLOAD. Sony and this have driven me batty. I think I'm starting to hallunicate things. Well, I guess this is the part when someone says "Welcome to the world of the graphic designer."
